American Specialty Coatings
Metal coating is the application of one or more thin coats of a particular metal. Some types of coating includes electroless nickel, phosphate and chromium. This is one of many types of coating services. They are necessary for applications in which thin films or coats made up of varying materials are applied to substrates. The process includes solution preparation and delivery to applicator, the coating application itself, drying and solidification. As a first step, raw material will be specified and tested, deaerated, mixed and then dispersed. Then fluid flow, weight and measurement are determined. Certain substrates will be compatible with particular coating materials only. The final drying and solidification method includes heating and ventilation systems in addition to the heat transfer and defect mechanisms.
Automotive, appliance, trucking, electrical, military, and marine and construction are some of the markets in which metal coating is found. It can be applied to parts such as fasteners, brackets, clips, clamps, stamping, beams and rotors. They not only protect the metal components against moisture, salt spray, oxidation or exposure to chemicals, but also provide abrasion resistance and chemical protection. In fact, the coating will offer a durable and corrosion resistant film while the core material will provide the ability to bear loads.
