Roof Coating feature is the roof leaks repair. By nature they are reflective. They minimize the summertime cooling costs. Coatings provide cosmetic purposes and develop roof aesthetics. It helps in increasing the life of the roof. Before recoating let previous coat dry. It takes one day per coat in cool weather and days in warm weather. As the first topcoat is pleasing, the second topcoat will really increase the time before coating is needed again. Try to avoid color-tinted roof coatings as they only squander energy. In case you want to a tinted roof coating, go for the lightest tint. White, elastomeric, aluminum and metal are different kinds of roof coatings.
White roof coatings have polymeric materials which are transparent. These coatings help in reflecting 70% to 80 % of the sun's energy. We can obtain colored coatings when the tints are mixed with white coatings. The tinting process decreases the solar reflectance.
Aluminum roof coatings use an asphalt-type resin which has "leafing" aluminum flakes. Leafing means the tendency of the aluminum flakes. The upper surface has an aluminum layer, which guards the asphalt material from the sun's ultraviolet rays. The aluminum flakes develops the solar reflectance.
Elastomeric roof coatings are very versatile, flexible and adaptable. Even at low temperatures they stay flexible because of its uniform, seamless surface. By nature they are reflective elastic. They can be used in construction phase or the maintenance phase. It can be applied on a large variety of roofs like
- Single-ply
- Metal,
- Asphalt
- Polyurethane foam
- Concrete roofs
